What appears to be a ghost town is surprisingly alive
when one actually drives off the freeway for a browse,(a result of the
hard work of the Terowie citizens association).
Founded in 1877 Terowie is historically rich, a one
time thriving railway township, renound for serving as a stop off point
for the armed forces, Terowie Oval was used as an Army camp for troops
moving north to Alice Springs and Darwin, It was here that General
McArther uttered his famous words "I shall return" or similiar.
There are museams to meander and interesting
architecture to browse down on the main street.
